New Spectrum Modular Series
The New Spectrum Modular Series processors is a revolutionary concept which brings together all the innovative ideas and knowledge of the Dynamic Extractions science and engineering teams, its partners and in particular, developing a high throughput CCS/CCC processing solution for an integrated, multipurpose biorefinery.
It is the result of 15 years of experience in the design and development of hydrodynamic CCS/CCC technologies and understanding the requirements of both the laboratory based chemists and researchers using these tools in discovery and process development activities as well as the processing industries who require high efficiency, versatile, low cost/maintenance flexible and sustainable process solutions.
The new Spectrum Modular Series in principle is a simple concept as it allows the Series 1000 core processor platform with its reliable and robust design to be the platform upon which all the processors and processing systems are built.
A modular system for the Series 20 processor has all the same features as the capabilities of the standard Spectrum Series 20 but is now enhanced with many new features as well as reducing the operating expenditure (OPEX) costs.
This modular system also enables all complete processing system to be integrated in an elegant bench top, out-of-the-box “plug and play” system with integrated sample loading, pumps, detector, fractions collector, etc.
This design has also enabled the implementation of a brand new flying lead system design which is aimed at extending the life of the flying leads of all processor Series so that they will never have to be replaced outside of major servicing intervals which with this design also extends to many thousands of hours of operation.
The most significant benefit of this modular innovation and the associated design enhancements to the core processor platform is that it is now possible to integrate 1 litre columns together to create a highly flexible, high throughput system for any annual output which can run continuously without the need to shut down the system.
These high throughput modular systems can be a small as a single core processor for laboratory or pilot plant development, extended according to the output projected and increased accordingly. The design of the system is based on the principles of continuous operation and all the benefits this type of processing strategy brings to a processing company e.g. small footprint, highly flexible, portable, minimum operating space required (e.g. for flammable solvent processing, containment, GMP), etc.
